From Rural Isolation to Market Integration: A Pilot Partnership

The PlaNet Finance China office is proud to announce that the Tongwei County Biogas extension project (Tongwei II) is underway, made possible by the continued support from original Tongwei Project partners, the European Commission and Areva. Tongwei II is a continuation of our commitment to renewable energy, biomass technologies and promoting financial inclusion in the southeast region of Gansu Province.

Tongwei II builds upon the success of Tongwei I by further developing lending activities in the area. Furthermore, Tongwei II will introduce a Rural Business Innovation Center (RBIC), a model incubator towards developing local, environmentally-friendly and innovative technologies and products.

PFC is also seeking funding to support the microfinance loan program for farmers. To meet our goal, we are looking for commitment to the equivalent of EUR 200,000 over three years, to add to loan funds already found.
