Micro-Entrepreneur from Chinese Partner MFI Wins at the 2010 International Microfinance Awards!

Laureates of the International Microfinance Awards hosted by PlaNet Finance were announced yesterday! The award ceremony will take place in December 2010 and invites all laureates to Paris, France to attend the ceremony.

Awards are categorized into six categories: 1) Farming, 2) Education, 3) Environment, 4) New Technology, 5) Health and 6) Social Impact. Selection criteria took into account the micro-entrepreneurs’ personal qualities, financial aspects, social aspects and impact in the award category.

This coming Tuesday June 22, 2010, the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in China, American Chamber of Commerce and Swisscham Beijing will jointly host a seminar titled "Development of Microfinance in China". The seminar aims to expose what opportunities for involvement from the wider business community are available to enable people in China to lift themselves from poverty. The event which will feature a panel discussion and a Q&A session.
